David's Men — Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the David's Men mobile application ("App") or accessing the David's Men admin dashboard ("Dashboard"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App or Dashboard.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Ruiz Report LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), operating the David's Men service.

2. Description of Service

David's Men is a faith-based accountability platform for men's groups. The service enables members to:

  • Track daily Bible reading completion and journaling
  • Memorize weekly scripture verses
  • Practice monthly spiritual disciplines
  • Schedule and record one-on-one accountability meetings ("Man Dates")
  • View group members' progress for mutual accountability
  • Receive push notification reminders

The service is provided through a mobile application (iOS and Android) for group members and group leaders, and a web-based admin dashboard for cohort leaders, location admins, and site admins.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use the App. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement. If you are between 13 and 18 years of age, you must have the consent of a parent or legal guardian to use the App.

4. Invite-Only Access

David's Men is an invite-only service. You cannot create an account without receiving an invitation from an authorized administrator (cohort leader, location admin, or site admin) or group leader.

  • Members are invited by their group leader
  • Group leaders are invited by a cohort leader, location admin, or site admin
  • Cohort leaders and location admins are invited by higher-level administrators

We reserve the right to revoke access at any time, for any reason, at the sole discretion of the administrators managing your cohort or location.

5. Account Registration and Security

5.1 Account Creation

When accepting an invitation, you may create an account using:

  • Google Sign-In (Google OAuth)
  • Apple Sign In (Apple OAuth)
  • Email address and authentication provider account

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.

5.2 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify your cohort leader or program administrator immediately if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

5.3 One Account Per Person

Each person may hold one account. The system uses email normalization to prevent duplicate accounts across different sign-in methods.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the App only for its intended purpose — participating in the David's Men accountability program. You agree not to:

  • Share your login credentials with others
  • Attempt to access another user's account
  • Use the App for any commercial purpose
  • Upload offensive, inappropriate, or illegal content (including profile photos)
  • Interfere with or disrupt the service or its infrastructure
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the App
  • Use automated systems or bots to access the service

7. User Content

7.1 Your Content

You retain ownership of content you create through the App, including journal entries and profile information. By using the App, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store and display your content as necessary to provide the service.

7.2 Group Visibility

By participating in a group, you understand and agree that your group members can see:

  • Your daily reading completion status
  • Your memory verse memorization status
  • Your discipline and book completion status
  • Your Man Date completion status
  • Your reading streak

This visibility is a core feature of the accountability model and cannot be disabled while you are a member of a group.

7.3 Profile Photos

You may upload a profile photo (avatar). You represent that you have the right to use any image you upload and that it does not violate the rights of any third party.

8. Push Notifications

The App may send push notifications for daily reading reminders. You can control notification preferences within the App settings, including enabling/disabling reminders and setting your preferred reminder time. You may also disable notifications through your device settings at any time.

9. Third-Party Services

The App integrates with third-party services to provide its functionality:

  • Supabase — Authentication and data storage
  • Google Sign-In / Apple Sign In — OAuth authentication
  • Expo Push Notifications — Delivery of push notifications via Apple Push Notification service (APNs) and Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM)
  • Resend — Transactional email delivery (invitations, notifications)
  • Vercel — Application hosting
  • Sentry — Error monitoring and crash reporting

Your use of these third-party services is subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of third-party service providers.

10. Intellectual Property

10.1 Our Property

The App, Dashboard, and all related content (excluding user-generated content and scripture text) — including design, code, graphics, and documentation — are owned by David's Men and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

10.2 Scripture Content

Scripture text displayed in the App belongs to its respective copyright holders. All rights reserved by those holders.

11. Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time through the App settings. When you delete your account:

  • Your personal information (name, email, avatar) is anonymized
  • Your push notification token is removed
  • Your historical progress data is retained in anonymized form for group records
  • You will be signed out of the App

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Reasons for termination may include, but are not limited to:

  • Violation of these Terms
  • Removal from a group or cohort by an administrator
  • Cohort completion or deactivation
  • Inactivity

Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately.

13. Disclaimers

13.1 "As Is" Service

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

13.2 No Guarantee of Availability

We do not guarantee that the App will be available at all times or that it will be free from errors or interruptions.

13.3 Not Professional Advice

The App is a tool for spiritual accountability and personal discipline tracking. It does not provide professional counseling, therapy, or spiritual direction. The content and features of the App are not a substitute for professional advice.

14. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, DAVID'S MEN AND ITS OPERATORS, ADMINISTRATORS, AND CONTRIBUTORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL, RESULTING FROM:

  • YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP
  • ANY UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS TO YOUR ACCOUNT
  • ANY CONTENT OR CONDUCT OF OTHER USERS
  • ANY ERRORS OR OMISSIONS IN THE APP

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY EXCEED ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100).

15. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless David's Men and its operators, administrators, and contributors from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms within the App or on our website and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document.

Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

17. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

18. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

19. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and David's Men regarding the use of the App.
